Tips for Drakkar

  1. Read the quick start manual. Download.
  2. Read the Manual when you can. Lots of stuff that you can not find on web pages.
  3. Look at the tips and other info on the MPGN web site and other personal web pages.
  4. When Rolling your character, Reroll until you get high stats in the areas you want them in. (I would sugest Con, Chr, and luck be very high (17 - 18).
  5. Use the same name on your character as your persona in the Access Software. It is a lot easier for people to get to know you this way.
  6. Spend some time in the pub talking and making friends. Especially with those you often see in the area you're hunting. (These are the people that will help you if you happen to die.)
  7. For money early on, helms are very valuable, and you can carry some armor in your hand on your way out.
  8. Train, Train, Train. ohh and Did I say TRAIN.
  9. If the battle is to hard for you, run. You can always come back.
  10. Only kill the monsters. (the ones who have a red banner on top.) The town's people hold a grudge, and wont hurt you unless you start something with them.
  11. Always carry some healing potions.
  12. You can find out what an item is by forming the discipline 'sense' on it when you're holding it. You can find 'sense' scrolls and rings down in the dungeon.
  13. Train.
  14. Remember if this is your first character you will more then likely reroll them in the future. You get to keep all the items in the characters locker and in the bank. More improtantly you get to keep the knowledge that you gained by playing the game.
  15. If you happen to have the Rat Burro sash, you can drink from the fountion in Rat Town and get +10 Str. Some people think that the more Str you have the more hit's you can get when resting. I am not sure if this is true, but I do drink from the fountion when resting.
  16. Train some more.
  17. Your game should go something like this when you're first starting out.

1. Go to the dungeon and kill some monsters.
2. Loot there bodies and take the treasure.
3. Go to town and sell the 'goodies'.
4. Train and buy any items you used or need.
     (Ih's, succor twigs, ect.)
5. If any extra cash, put it in the bank.
6. Start at number one again.

(grins) Easy huh?  Have fun now... ya hear.
