Introduction to Drakkar

(waves) Hi I am Daniel of MoY and this is my Web page. On this page we talk about a lot of things. If you're new this page can help (help make it more confusing), if you're lost this page can help (gives ya maps at least) and tells you about the different character classes if you can't decide what character class to be. Talks about Race and abilities, talks about weapons and armor for your character to wear (when you get big enough to get the items), but now I get to talk alittle bit about Drakkar.

Drakkar is an online Fantasy Role Playing Game. Your task is to build and develop a charater alone or with other people playing this game. (dat is really the fun of it, playing with others, fighting against the creatures of the dark.) Monsters controlled by the computer are mostly called 'crits'. Players controlled by the computer are called 'NPC's. Players themselves are 'PC's. In Drakkar there are a few simple rules to be followed and I will put them here..

Killing Player characters is strictly forbidden.
(cept for thieves when they try to steal from you and miss)
Killing non-hostile creatures is left to your discretion, but be warned that slaughtering innocents will affect your alignment.
Killing hostile creatures is the point of the game. This is how you build your experience levels and your skill levels.

Not everyone has to play the same characters. That is why there are different classes of characters: Mentalist, Martial Artist, Fighters, Thief, Barbarian and Healer. Each has different abilities and drawbacks.

In Drakkar there is no difference between Male and Female, (other than the graphics) the stats are all random, and girls can be just as strong or stronger then the boys. The boys can be just a chrasmatic as the girls can. (not really sure about that one. hehehe) but it is in your best interest to create a character of the same sex as you. The only difference is in the Race, (have a section on that) and what is your Ability score is (have a section on that to.)

How big a character is, is measured with different statistics. When someone asks me how big I am, I tell them I am an 18/15 Barb (meaning 18 experience level, 15 skill level in my chosen weapon, and that I am a Barbarian). When playing the game, move the mouse into the upper left hand corner and click show, then skills.... on top will be your level, and you can find your chosen weapon in the list there. If you click on the words it will give you the number equivalent.

Hit Points (also hits or hps) are very important in Drakkar. While fighting with the monsters you will loose some hit points every time the monster hits you, and he will loose hit points every time you hit him. The first one to reach zero looses. You can buy healing potions (called instant heals or ih) in the game that you can drink during combat, to keep your health level up.

After you kill the monsters you will want to see what they are carrying. (since they won't need it any more you might as well take it huh?) There are lots of different items, some contain magic, some don't. You will need as much gold as you can get to pay for your training, and buying items. So it is in your best interest to kill lots of monsters, and take all their good stuff. (kinda sounds like real life.)

Drakkar is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except for that one hour they reset every Monday). Your character is saved every time you log out so next time you will be right where you left off. (hope it was not in the red dragons house, or other nasty place). which means that the more you play, the bigger you get, the more places you can go, the more you will want to explore, the more you will want to play, means the bigger you will get, the more places you will want to go. (nice little circle there) ohhh.. one thing first off though.

WARNING!!!

This game is very addictive.

If you start playing the game. You will either Love it. (and play lots) or hate it (and not play at all.)

Upon starting this game, it is like all other games, you're generally lost. But if you go through the 'school' that is set up for you when you start the game you should understand alot of the basics. For the game is fairly easy to learn to play, but very hard to master. (smiles) look at me, I have been playing the game for 2 years now, and I am still learning.
